"I like tackling important issues in films, yet I don't want to bore the audience with Mello-Drama. I think lots of people want to go the show to be entertained, to forget about how F'ed up the world is. I feel you can present real issues in "action" films while also giving them performances that will lift their spirits, not bring them down even further. That's just not my style.

I look at movies like Roller Coasters or a healthy pulse. Coasters that just go in a straight line from point A to point B are just not any fun."

Evil Dead

"As far as the Evil Dead movies go, I was always a fan. There are however some things I didn't like about the movies though, mostly the fact that I never really got a great sense of Guilt from Ash in the first movie. I mean, the guy kills his friends and lovers...There is a hint of Guilt and compassion in Evil Dead 2, but his apprehension to leave the cabin needs to be reinforced and needs to be EXTREMELY justified. I don't mean this by showing what the Evil force is/looks like, rather, having his reason to NOT go outside more evident somehow.

In the First Evil Dead, dismembering his friends was never made to seem like a COMPLETE Last Resort. We are made to feel almost sympathetic towards him however, but why should we?

Wouldn't you either try harder to help your friends or just try to Allude them best as possible if they turned into blood thirsty zombies? So, I believe that needs to be adressed.

However, I'm interested in moving forward not back. Doing a remake isn't appealing to me. "
